The service suits engineering practices, mapping teams and developers who need data positioned appropriately within a spatial context. Remote collaboration can support international clients when source materials contain enough reference information for verification.
What the service includes
- Review of source and target coordinate reference systems.
- Plan georeferencing using appropriate control points or references.
- Coordinate transformation and positioning checks.
- Checks of polygons, closure and problematic geometries.
- Organisation of layers and attributes with agreed export formats.
What we need to get started
Send the source file, location and required final format. Control points, measurements, survey documentation and coordinate reference information are particularly useful. If a drawing only has local coordinates, we need an appropriate basis for connecting it to real-world coordinates.
Scope and limitations
Accuracy depends on the quality of the control points and reference sources. Visual alignment with satellite imagery does not itself verify legal boundaries. We distinguish assigning a reference system from actually transforming coordinates.
